MEET THE DOULA

I grew up in rural Iowa and moved to Rolla, Missouri to attend college at Missouri S&T. I met and married my husband while in college and graduated with my degree in Architectural Engineering. After graduating, we moved to St. Louis, where I started my career as an engineer and quickly realized it was not my passion. 

After a couple years of working as an engineer, I gave birth to our first child, a daughter, and decided to stay home full-time. Within 3 years, we added 2 more children to our family, both boys. Each birth was incredibly different and came with their own challenges but I loved the unique experience of each birth. Each of my babies opened my eyes to the amazement and wonder of birth, and I fell in love.

As my children grew older, I continued to stay at home with them so that I could homeschool. Then, in 2017 we moved to Atlanta, GA. Shortly after moving, I realized that my love and passion for birth was leading me to become a birth doula. In January of 2020 I completed my birth doula training through DONA International. Later that year, we moved back to St. Louis, where I launched my doula business, Tender Care Doula Services, LLC. We now live in West County and love being back home in St. Louis!

I am passionate about providing excellent birth support as your doula. Every mother deserves to be supported and cared for to help her achieve her best birth possible. I would love to support you whether you are having an unmedicated, medicated or cesarean birth at a hospital, birth center, or home!

In addition to my passion of birth work, here's a look into some other passions in my life. Above all, my faith is first. God placed these passions in my life and I wouldn't be where I am without Him. Second is my family, I absolutely love being a wife and mom and strive to be the best for them. I love being outside in God's creation, especially with my family either hiking, camping, backpacking or mountain biking.
